We are a small business who value all our customers as individuals and many return time and time again. Each order has specific requirements and we try to understand the requirements of every individual, every customer is different.
When you place your order with us you will receive a personal reply by email explaining how we calculate the lens powers and when the order will be despatched. We welcome enquiries and usually try to get back to you on the day the order is placed or if not the next day.
Our main aim is to provide a reliable personal friendly service which you can see by taking a look at our testimonials page.
The first known swimming goggles were believed to be worn by the Persians in the 14th century, they were made from refined tortoise shells and used for pearl diving.
By the 18th Century things had progressed a little as Polynesian skin divers started to use glass lenses in their goggles. These goggles used wood or bamboo to trap air around the eye to make a seal but unfortunately were not completely waterproof and regularly fell off!
Did you know that swimming whilst wearing contact lenses is not recommended?
Water can contain various viruses and dangerous microbes that contact lenses should not be exposed to, and swimming in them increases your risk of serious eye infections.
Firstly I would like to start by wishing all of our customers old and new a very happy and prosperous 2017.
At the start of every year most of us tend to make some sort of resolution to try and change or enhance a particular aspect of our lives. For many of us this seems to revolve around our health and fitness and a determination to bring about a level of improvement.
The National Curriculum states that “all schools must provide swimming instruction either in key stage 1 or key stage 2. In particular, pupils should be taught to:
- Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
- Use a range of strokes (for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke.)
- Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
These aims are recommended and backed by the Amateur Swimming Association.
In the 5 years that Goggleyed has been in business we have always attempted to provide a personal service that ensures our customers receive prescription swimming goggles that are suitable for them in terms of visual correction and that also makes us available to offer both advice and an after-sales service if needed.
Fitness and wellbeing are hot topics with lots of media attention on how we should all be leading healthy and active lifestyles. However hectic work schedules and family commitments mean that it is not always easy to sustain a good balance but swimming is a healthy activity for all age groups that can be slotted in to most schedules. It can be a fun time for all the family to enjoy, it can be a tranquil time to unwind and relax, or for the more exercise conscious it can provide a comprehensive workout.
